Laser Vessel Closure – Effective and Modern Solution
Laser treatment has long been a true hit in aesthetic medicine. The procedure involves directing a laser beam at dilated vessels, increasing their temperature, significantly narrowing and ultimately closing them, allowing you to permanently get rid of the problem. In our clinic, we use two vessel closure methods with a laser.
The first treatment of this type is Thunder MT, which utilizes a device with two laser beams: an alexandrite (wavelength 755 nm) and a neodymium (wavelength 1064 nm). This allows precise and individualized adjustment of treatment parameters to meet each patient’s needs. Moreover, the handpiece is equipped with a modern Qool-Air cooling system, which significantly increases treatment comfort. This procedure is most often performed once, although it can be repeated after 6 weeks if necessary. One session lasts from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area.
Harmony XL Dye-VL – the second procedure we offer for closing blood vessels with a laser. The procedure is performed using a neodymium device with a wavelength of 1064 nm. It uses a series of three filters, which allows focusing the light in an extremely narrow range. This provides not only better results but also the safety of the procedure.
Both treatment methods do not require a recovery period. The patient can return to their daily activities the same day. The only side effects are swelling and small scabs at the treatment site, but they last up to two weeks and disappear on their own. It is also important to remember some contraindications to the laser vessel closing procedure, such as pregnancy and lactation, use of photosensitizing medications and herbs, epilepsy, certain skin diseases, blood clotting disorders, some skin conditions, tendency to keloids or kidney failure.
Vessel Closing Using Radiotherapy
ThermaVein – another method we offer for treating broken capillaries. This procedure involves using radio waves that cause a thermocoagulation effect on the skin. Very thin needles are used for precise work, allowing energy to be delivered directly into the vessels. Up to 15 cm of dilated blood vessels can be treated in one session. Usually, one 15-minute session is enough to achieve the desired effect. Afterward, only minor redness or swelling may occur, which quickly and spontaneously resolves. Of course, it’s important to be aware of contraindications for closing vessels on the face with this method: especially pregnancy and breastfeeding, metal implants, fresh wounds at the treatment site, cancer, dermatitis or certain cardiovascular diseases, such as varicose veins.
What Is the Effect of Closing Blood Vessels?
Although the effects of each vessel closing treatment are permanent, there is always a risk of the problem recurring. Other vessels may dilate in skin prone to telangiectasia. Therefore, proper skin care is crucial for maintaining the treatment result. It is also very important to follow post-treatment recommendations strictly.
