Multimasking is a skin care trend that you should be familiar with, you more so if you have combination skin. With this technique, you can meet the needs of your own skin, that is, moisturize the dry parts or balance the oily ones. Multimasking is practically for everyone, which is why it is so commonly used in spas.
Multimasking – what is it?
The fact that face masks are worth using is nothing to convince people of. The fact is that a properly selected and applied mask can work wonders. Some masks have a moisturizing effect, while others have a cleansing effect, and still others can improve color or aid in the regeneration of damaged skin. They are most often selected according to skin type and used on the entire face. There is also another method, namely multimasking.
Multimasking is the technique of applying a variety of masks to selected areas of the skin. Importantly, the mask is applied simultaneously and according to the needs and condition of the skin on selected parts of the face. This makes it the most effective way to provide various nutritional values to the skin. The premise of multimasking is to solve multiple problems on the skin with one treatment. This method originated in South Korea, where applying facial masks is a key step in facial care. We could certainly already encounter such a treatment in professional cosmetology offices. Its premise is to meet each of the skin’s needs, regardless of the part of the face affected, without shortcuts or compromises.
Multimasking – is it worth it?
Multimasking can be a helpful tool, even more so in the case of combination skin with a simultaneous tendency to be oily and dry in various parts. When selecting masks for this method, take into account:
- Eyes – since the epidermis under the eyes is thin and delicate, it requires the use of less substantive and completely different products. Only cosmetics designed for the care of this area are used here. If we have puffiness and dark circles, masks that show cooling effects and eye patches are ideal,
- Forehead – in this case, you need to make sure that the skin in this area does not get too oily too quickly. If this is the case, it is worth using normalizing, mattifying masks, preferably with the addition of clay. In another situation, the most ordinary moisturizing or nourishing mask will work. It is also worth thinking about a facelift and applying a mask that shows firming effects, as facial wrinkles and furrows appear on the forehead,
- neck – it is not without reason that a swan neck is considered a sign of youth. In order to maintain a wrinkle-free and slender neck, it will be good to take care of the condition of the skin while still young. Most often, up to the age of 25, moisturizing masks will suffice, while later it will be good to use cosmetics with firming properties,
- The chin – as with the forehead, this area can be prone to inflammation, impurities and even acne. It is best to clean it regularly. However, if we have not noticed imperfections in this area, we should bet on strong moisturization,
- Lips – this is an often overlooked area on the face in terms of home spa treatments, yet it also requires care. In this case, it is a good idea to moisturize heavily and smooth the lips. Before applying the product, it is worthwhile for us to perform a gentle exfoliation, which will properly smooth, but also enhance the effect of the cosmetic applied later,
- Cheeks – note that there are no so-called spider veins, discoloration or other types of imperfections on the cheeks. If you have problems with flushed cheeks, soothing masks, such as those with chamomile or aloe vera, can help. Meanwhile, for vascular skin, vascular sealing masks (such as those containing horse chestnut extract) and soothing masks are ideal.
